THE BRITISH EXPATS CLASSIC

The day started early for Jim and Soapy. Jim needed to be at the course to set things up before everyone turned up. He had printed everyone’s names out on a sheet of paper and got Rick and Jason to pin them to each pairings cart. Big Ryan had sponsored the Goldie lads again, with a cap for the whole team. Jim placed them in each cart. Last but not least Jim had 3 balls printed for each player with the words British Expats June 2008 and a little Aussie flag on each ball. (Nice touch Jimbo)

It got a little bit hectic trying to get everyone’s choice of grub, but the guys all managed to stop talking pish long enough for me to make sure they all got fed.

As usual Rob was the last one to turn up with about 2 minutes before tee off, but we all knew that was early for him.

Gordon (Snapper) was running around in his cart trying to get as many photos as he could before we started.

The only down side on the day was one of the guys didn’t manage to make it. Jim did a quick reshuffle of teams and haggis offered to play two shots against Ben and Rob.

(He needed them)

There was plenty of madness on the course as usual. Rob had trouble staying in his cart, bobby fought hard trying to stay sober against Jim and his gantry, Haggis was struggling to find two lost balls for every hole, Ben was struggling to keep his cart straight, never mind his ball, Soapy was in shock after hitting an exploding ball, Jordon was amazed when his wiggly ball was his best putt, keys were taken from carts, and Stevie went round the whole course using only a 3 wood and his putter.

By the time I got back to the 19th most of the guys were pished! As usual the food was magic.

After everyone was fed the prizes were dished out.
