THE FIRST BRITISH EXPATS CLASSIC

This Is the first of the British Expats Golf Classic.

The original idea came from Haggisman (Craig). While at one of our very successful expat meets Haggisman asked soapy if he would organise a golf game for some of the lads. Soapy took the idea away and come up with a competitive event with an all expats team game with The Gold Coast V Brisbane. As soon as the idea was voiced we knew it was going to be huge. Within weeks it became too much for one person to organize. Jim offered to help out soapy by taking the golf side of it on. With help from Mark they soon got it sorted.

After about a month all the players names were in, Jim managed to book the date and get fantastic trophies.

The first match was at Gainsborough Greens, as close to half way between The Gold Coast and Brisbane. It was a perfect day for such an event. The sun was shining and most of the lads had enough booze to fill a local BWS, except Jim who had a separate cart just for his Drink!

The Goldie lads holed in one by turning up dresses in the same top. Big Ryan had sponsored the cost with his company name “Classic Rock Walls” printed on the sleeve (Thanks Big Yin). After about 45 minutes of chaos getting money and organizing teams into carts, it was Game On.

A jubilant Brisbane side took the winning trophy!
